GMA Could Very Well Launch The Stars Of 'The Half Sisters' In A Full Length Film Considering Their Show's Popularity

'THE HALF SISTERS' IS SUCH a big hit that GMA keeps on extending its telecast. We believe that GMA has a potential gold mine in its four stars who are now very popular among afternoon viewers: Barbie Forteza, Thea Tolentino, Derrick Monasterio and Andre Paras. They remind us of “Mara Clara” whose stars, notably Judy Ann Santos and Gladys Reyes, were merely TV stars that time but was launched to film stardom when Mother Lily gambled on them and gave them their own movie in “Sana Naman”, a blockbuster. It was only after that that ABS-CBN took notice of them and made “Mara Clara” into a movie.

If Viva was able to successfully launch James Reid and Nadine Lustre in “Diary ng Panget” even if they don’t have a TV fan base, what more the stars of “Half Sisters” who has a hit show? Since GMA Films is no longer into film production (they’re more into co-production, like in “Kubot, Aswang Chronicles” with Reality Entertainment), then Mother Lily should then hire the “Half Sisters” stars and give them their own launching movie to strike while the iron is hot and not waste the opportunity of using its stars for a full length film.
