Manilyn Reynes And Keempee De Leon Reveal That They Once Went Steady For Four Short Months

MANILYN REYNES AND Keempee de Leon play the parents of Bianca Umali in “Once Upon a Kiss”. We saw them as teen idols in “That’s Entertainment” and now, they're already playing mother and father roles.

“Oo nga, you really saw us growing up,” says Mane. “Lalo na ako, nakita nyo akong child star sa Regal, e.”

Both Mane and Keempee now admit that there was a time that they went steady. “For four months lang,” says Keempee.Why didn’t it last long? “Alam nyo na, ang babata pa namin. Away kami ng away,” says Mane.

So how’s it being paired anew once more? “Actually, first time namin itong magkapareha ng ganito,” says Keempee. “We never made a TV show or a movie together. Mas madalas, nagkakasama lang kami kapag nagdu-duet kami sa TV o sa live shows.”

“Yes, mas si Janno Gibbs talaga ang nakapareha ko noon,” says Mane.

Now, they’re both parents. Mane has three sons with Aljon Jimenez. Their eldest, Sean Kyle, is 18 years old and is taking up multi-media arts. Keempee’s only child, a girl, is also 18 and is taking up HRM. “She sings well at gusto ring mag-showbiz, but I told her to finish college muna,” he says.

What do they think of the young love team of Miguel and Bianca that they’re now supporting? “May promise sila,” says Mane. “Mga bata pa pero parehong may acting nang ipinakikita.”

“At maganda ang chemistry nila on screen,” adds Keempee. “Puedeng-puedeng sumikat ang tandem nila.”

“Once Upon A Kiss” starts airing on January 5 after “24 Oras”. It will replace “Strawberry Lane” that is now on its last two weeks.
