AFTER TWO months of racing all over the country, the winners in “The Amazing Race Philippines 2” will be known tonight at 9:30PM. Most followers think it’s the Dating Couple of Matt Edwards and Phoebe Walker who’s “llamado” as they’re perennial winners in the various legs. The “dehado” team is Mr. Pogi, composed of JP (John Paul) Duray and Kelvin Engles.
Matt and JP are poles apart in the way they regard their mothers. Matt, the younger brother of Juan Direction’s Henry Edwards, hates his Pinay mom for abandoning him, his two brothers and their British dad, to run off with a younger man. When we asked him if could still forgive his mom, Matt couldn’t hold back his tears and cried, saying he was really so hurt as he used to be a mama’s boy.
In contrast, JP loves his mom so much, who lives in Olongapo. They are so poor that he doesn’t even have money to buy her a TV set so she can watch him in “Amazing Race”. Throughout the race, he and the other racers are fed with the most delicious dishes and he always thinks of his mom and wishes that he could share all the good food with her. “If we’d win, I would buy her not just a TV set but also a nice bed,” he adds.
Find out in the finale of TARP2 tonight who among them would win the grand prizes of two houses and lots from RCD Royale Homes, two Kia Sportage SUVs and P2M cash prize from PLDT Home Telepad. And tomorrow, don’t miss their special reunion with all the other racers in a TARP2 reunion special, also at 9:30PM.
