ALWYN UYTINGCO is excited to become a father. His better half, Jennica Garcia, is now preggy with their first baby. Is it true Jen is supposed to do a soap for ABS-CBN but she backed out because she’s having a delicate pregnancy?
“It’s true,” says Alwyn at the presscon of “#ewankosau, saranghaeyo”. “She’s in ‘Oh My G’ sana, but nagbi-bleeding siya, so her doctor told her to have complete bed rest for two weeks. But after two weeks, may bleeding pa rin, so tuloy-tuloy na ang rest niya for the rest of her first trimester. High risk pregnancy kaya bawal siyang mapagod o ma-stress. Sa July pa siya due to deliver. It was our manager, Tito Manny Valera, who decided na i-pull out na lang siya sa show ng ABS.”
Alwyn plays Francis Magundayao’s brother in the teen romantic-comedy “#ewankosausaranghaeyo”. But aside from that, he is also the movie’s assistant director. “It’s part of my plan to work behind the camera. Matagal na ako in the business as I started as a child actor, so I want to train now to be a director. This is the next step for me.”
Alwyn is still with TV5 and he’s now a regular in the Saturday gag show, “Tropa Mo Ko, Nice Di Ba?” with Ogie Alcasid. “#ewankosau” will have its premiere night on Sunday, January 18, at SM North Edsa The Block Cinema 2 and opens in theatres on January 21.
