Dennis Trillo And John Lapus Happy To Be In 'Shake Rattle & Roll 15' Which Is Said To Be The Best Of All

WE MISSED the recent celebrity screening of “Shake Rattle & Roll 15” as it coincided with the second presscon of “My Big Bossing”. We chose the latter since it was held at the more accessible Annabel’s Resto while the “Shake” preview was at SM Megamall and traffic was horrible that day. But all those who’ve seen it say it’s the best “Shake” movie ever, simply because all the young directors who helmed the three episodes are very good, unlike “Shake 14” which had just one director and it turned out not to be a very good decision on the part of Regal Entertainment. Three heads are really better than just one.

It’s only John Lapus who got to work with all of the three young directors of “Shake 15”, as he’s the only cast member present in all the three “Shake” episodes. “Lahat sila, magagaling,” he says. “They all have movies na naka-A rating na, like Dondon Santos of ‘Ahas’ episode, naka-A siya sa ‘Noy’ ni Coco Martin noon. Si Jerrold Tarog of ‘Ulam’ episode, marami ng A’s like ‘Confessional’, ‘Senior Year’ and ‘Sana Dati’ na best picture winner sa CineMalaya. Si Percival Intalan of ‘Flight 666’, first movie pa lang na ‘Dementia’, naka-A na agad.”

Dennis Trillo gets to work for the first time with Jerrold Tarog in “Ulam” and he has nothing but praises for the young director who has just finished a big historical film, “Heneral Luna”, meant to be shown in 2015. “Ibang klase siya,” says Dennis. “Bago, very fresh ang ideas niya. My leading lady in ‘Ulam’, Carla Abellana, has worked with him before in the ‘Funeraria’ episode of ‘Shake 13’ at nanalo siya ng best actress award for that. Our episode is not an ordinary scary movie dahil may psychological element involved dito. Kami ni Carla, nagpunta sa ancestral home ng family ko and our caretaker, Chanda Romero, starts feeding us with dishes na nagpapabago sa aming pagkatao, turning us both into animals. But you can’t be sure kung totoo yunr nangyayari sa amin or hallucinations lang. Basta maganda, naiiba ang treatment kaya nag-enjoy akong gawin ito.”
