FRENCHESKA FARR won in GMA’s singing search, “Are You the Next Big Star”, in 2009. She then branched out into acting and did the movie “Emir” and soaps like “Captain Barbell”, “Kokak”, “One True Love”, “Bukod Kang Pinagpala”, “Binoy Henyo” and “Inamorata”. She now returns to her first love, singing, with the release of her single, “Let My Fire Out”, launched in “Sunday All Stars” last Sunday. She herself wrote the song.
“This year, I really want to push more my being a singer and performer,” she says. “I also enjoy acting but I feel I need to explore my being a singer more and reach my limits. The song is now available for download in I-Tunes’. We’ve also shot its music video on a beach in Zambales and we’re launching it soon.”
What does she mean when she wrote “Let My Fire Out”? “I composed it a time na may pinagdaraanan ako sa buhay ko. When I wrote it sa diary ko, dire-diretsong lumabas ang words pati melody at natapos ko agad.”
So is it about her lovelife? “No, it’s more about my family. May time kasi na naging bumpy ang relationship namin ng parents ko and my only brother. Naging very busy ako with my career, I didn’t give them much of my time, at hindi rin sila masyadong nagsasalita, so we lost touch. Nagkaroon ng small misunderstandings and I realize we need to communicate more with each other, so yun ang let my fire out. I was able to show them the real me at na-accept namin ang pagkatao ng bawat isa.”
She admits she has a boyfriend named Gino Jose, a filmmaker. “He just did a short film, ‘Basaan’, about the feast of San Juan na nagbabasaan ang mga tao. Three years na rin kami.”
So they’ve been on even at the time she was being linked to Gian Magdangal? “Yes. Na-linked lang kami ni Gian because we appeared together in the stage musical, ‘Grease’. He remains a good friend.”
She has written five other songs and plans to release them as a full album. Does that mean she’s turning her back on acting? “No, I’m now in ‘Second Chances’ on primetime. I play Penny, the veterinarian friend of Jennylyn Mercado. Enjoy rin naman ako sa acting so puede namang pagsabayin ito and my singing.”
We notice she’s so tanned now. “Yes, because I love surfing. I surf in La Union and Baler. It’s a great sport and very relaxing.”
Watch out when Frencheska promotes her song, “Let My Fire Out”, and its music video. Meantime, you can now download it from I-Tunes.
