TV5's Successful New Year's Eve Countdown And Their New Shows For 2015

WE JOINED TV5’s “Happy sa 2015: The Philippine New Year Countdown” held on New Year’s Eve upon the invitation of their PR head Peachy Guioguio. This happened at the Quezon Memorial Circle in cooperation with Mayor Herbert Bautista. They put up a huge stage in the middle of the circle and prepared a delightful new year concert capped by stunning fireworks display by pyro olympics experts from Canada and the Philippines. Colorful planes with lights and lighted fireworks also brightened up the night sky. It is estimated that about 20,000 people came to welcome 2015 with TV5 stars.

The event was actually a whole day affair that started with a new year artista search (those discovered will be introduced to the public later), a Lesbian Gays Bisexual and Transgenders parade, live bands, street dance and games with big prizes. The star-studded concert started with Ogie Alcasid doing a rousing number with various dancers with flags and colorful costumes. Other top singers of the night include Kuh Ledesma, Tuesday Vargas, Isabella de Leon and Katrina Velarde of “Trenderas”. When Derek Ramsay joined on stage, he was introduced as the Metro-Manila Filmfest best actor for “English Only, Please”. Derek humbly reminded the crowd that another Kapatid talent won best picture, Robin Padilla for “Bonifacio”.

Other TV5 stars who did dance numbers or greeted the audience are Alice Dixson, Wendell Ramos, Ritz Azul, Jasmine Curtis Smith, Empoy Marquez, Alwyn Uytingco, Martin Escudero, DJ Tom Taus, Akihiro Blanco, Chris Leonardo, Alberto Bruno, Mark Neumann, Carl Guevarra, Brent Manzano, Gab Valenciano, Marvelous Alejo, Nicole Estrada, Malak Shidifat, John Spainhour, the Talentadong Pinoy 2014 grand winner Neil with other Hall of Famers plus the Philippine All Stars.

TV5 bosses Manny V. Pangilinan, Noel Lorenzana, Wilma Galvante and QC Mayor Herbert Bautista were all there, along with Gary Valenciano, Dr. Vicki Belo, ex-husband Atom Henares, current flame Hayden Kho, and children Quark and Crystalle Henares.

TV5 as the Happy Network also announced their new shows for 2015, which included “Mac & Cheese” with Derek, Empoy and Bianca King; “Two & ½ Dads” with Alice and the Padilla Brothers Robin and Rommel plus BB Gandanghari; “Solved na Solved” with Gelli de Belen, Arnel Ignacio and Atty. Mel Santamaria; “Healing Galing” with Hayden Kho and Edinel Calvario; a new singing contest called “Rising Stars”, a danced show called “Move It: Clash of the Street Dancers” hosted by Jasmine Curtis Smith and Tom Taus; “Last School Standing”, a game show featuring the country’s top schools competing; and “No Harm No Foul” featuring Ogie and the stars of PBA who’ll go into acting for the first time.
