WE PERSONALLY like Julia Barretto. We believe she has the makings of a big star like her two titas, Gretchen and Claudine, and she shows that she can act better than both of them. So we feel sad when her launching show, “Mirabella”, didn’t take off as expected. This is because it was shown at the time when she was having a tiff with her own dad, Dennis Padilla, and she filed a case in court asking her dad’s real family name, Baldivia, be replaced so that she’ll officially be a Barretto.
This didn’t sit well with the public and things got worse when stories that she was deliberately snubbing her dad in public circulated. Dennis himself confirmed that when they saw each other at the Christmas party of ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape, Julia greeted everyone around but ignored him.
Netizens quickly bashed Julia and reminded her that even the Bible says we should all honor our father and mother. We’re sure all the negative comments against her somehow affected Julia. Her mom, Marjorie Barretto, quickly defended Julia and declared it’s Dennis fault that their daughter is afraid of him. “Kung lumapit ba naman siya at niyakap niya ang anak namin, e di na-assure yung bata na hindi pala siya kailangang matakot sa ama niya. Dapat siya ang unang nag-reach out kasi siya naman ‘yung nakipag-away at na-trauma na sa kanya yung bata. Hindi ka na nga tumutulong sa pagpapalaki sa kanila, nagtatrabaho na nga nang marangal ‘yung mga bata, tapos sisiraan mo pa?”
We’re sure we have not heard the end of this and, as long as they continue to let the gap between them go wider, the more that Julia’s career will be negatively affected. Will someone please institute some damage control to save Julia’s career, please?
