ABS-CBN had a trade launch for the new shows they will offer for this year’s second quarter. This is bannered by three big dramas: “Never Say Goodbye”, “Pasion de Amor”, “Nathaniel” and “Bridges”. “Never Say Goodbye” is a family drama that stars the evergreen love team of Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta, with Jessy Mendiola and JC De Vera. “Pasion de Amor” is a Tagalog adaptation of a sexy Mexicanovela starring Ellen Adarna, Arci Munoz, Colleen Garcia, Jake Cuenca, Ejay Falcon and Joseph Marco.
“Nathaniel” introduces a new child star and is topbilled by Gerald Anderson, Shaina Magdayao and Isabelle Daza in her first soap since she moved from GMA-7 to ABS. “Bridges” is the controversial project that originally had John Lloyd Cruz in its cast (he’s now doing a new movie instead, directed by Erik Matti), but was replaced by Xian Lim who, in turn, was replaced by Paulo Avelino. Also in the cast are Jericho Rosales, Edu Manzano and Maja Salvador.
Other new shows are the comedy-fantasy reboot of Maricel Soriano’s hit “Inday Bote”, now starring Alex Gonzaga in the title role, with Matteo Guidicelli and Kean Cipriano as her leading men; “Your Face Sounds Familiar”, a new reality search that will replace “The Voice Philippines” that ends early March; and “Funny Juan”, a contest searching for new comedians to be hosted by Bayani Agbayani and Jayson Gainza.
