Grace Lee On Her Sentiments About Ex-BF Pres. Pnoy And The SAF 44 Tragedy

GRACE LEE hosted the Viva International-SM Lifestyle Entertainment launch of Sine Asia Theater. The former GF of Pres. Pnoy Aquino, Grace got involved in a controversial issue recently when she voiced her sentiments about what happened to SAF 44 after avid Pnoy supporter Lea Navarro defended the president for not going to the airport when their remains arrived.

“I’ve never met Ms. Navarro,” she says. “For me, justice lang for the 44 policemen who died. Sa TV nga, black ang sinusuot ko. I’ve been wearing black for a week since it happened dahil ayokong makalimutan sila. The service they gave the country, their sacrifice for the country should not be forgotten. Justice should be served. Delayed justice is like no justice at all.”

What would she do if she’d meet Leah by chance? “I will greet her. Hindi naman personal yun, we’re just discussing something that concerns the country. I understand naman if she’s a Pnoy loyalist. Marami naman talagang nagmamahal sa presidente natin at nagtitiwala sa kanya na isa siyang mabuting presidente. I have no problem naman that she’s a loyalist.”

Being the president’s ex-GF, how does she feel about the way Pnoy handled the situation? “I don’t think I’m qualified to make a comment. Ano naman ang karapatan ko to tell him my opinion when I’m just an ordinary citizen? I don’t think my feelings or sentiments will have a special bearing just because of the past.”

Grace says she might be born in Korea but she’s now a Filipino at heart. “I’ve applied for Filipino citizenship and I hope, sandali na lang, okay na. Hindi na ako magiging pusong Pinoy lang, kundi pati nationality ko, magiging Filipino na rin. I tell nga some of my Filipino friends na mas Filipino pa ako sa kanila. I hope to stay here for the rest of my life.”
