Radyo5 Taxi Squad A Big Success, Its Members Honored By News5 Head Luchi Cruz Valdes

AFTER A successful year of gaining more members, receiving awards and active participation in news reporting, Radyo5 TAXI SQUAD welcomes 2015 with a Thanksgiving Salo Salo for members whose contributions have strengthened the network’s equity on citizen journalism “on-wheels”. In an exclusive event that brought together the top performing “Taxi Squad” members of 2014, Radyo5 held its first-ever “Taxi Squad Thanksgiving Salo Salo” in its modern news and radio headquarters in Reliance, Mandaluyong City. “Taxi Squad” members who were honored as the top 30 contributors of constant and relevant news reports were not only given a rare inside look of the TV5 newsroom but were also given the opportunity to meet and greet some of their favorite Radyo5 anchors. These included no less than News5 Head Luchi Cruz-Valdes – together with her co-anchor of the widely-followed program, “Relasyon”, Attorney Mel Sta. Maria – as well as veteran broadcaster and “Akyon Solusyon” anchor Alex Tinsay and long-time host of the well-loved showbiz program “Cristy Ferminute”, Cristy Fermin. On top of these, the “Taxi Squad” members were finally given their wish of being up close and personal with the Radyo5 anchors whom they admire for giving fearless view and opinions, the Tulfos. Radyo5 made the event by giving them the chance to sit in as live audience in the Tulfo brothers’ multi-awarded public service program on TV5 called “T3: Enforced”. This was then followed by a live guesting with interview on Radyo5’s top-rating afternoon program “Wanted sa Radyo”, hosted by their Idol Raffy Tulfo, and Nina Taduran.

The celebratory mood during the “Taxi Squad Thanksgiving Salo Salo” did not stop there as the lucky “Taxi Squad” members were also treated to sumptuous meals, various photo opportunities, exciting raffle draws where some members took home big prizes, and the ceremonial signing of the “Taxi Squad” wall to commemorate this special event.
