Rafa Siguion Reyna Does A Gay Role Along With Michael De Mesa And Audie Gemora In 'La Cage Aux Folles' At RCBC Theatre

RAFA SIGUION REYNA, son of Bibeth Orteza and Director Carlos Siguion Reyna, tries theatre for the second time in “La Cage Aux Folles”, winner of the Tony Award for best musical in Broadway. He was last seen on stage as Kenickie in “Grease”. On TV, he did “Nino” and on film, he was in “Hari ng Tondo”.

Based on the 1973 French play by Jean Poiret, “La Cage” became a musical hit and the movie 'Birdcage” was based on it. It’s the love story of a gay couple, Georges, who manages a nightclub at Saint-Tropez, and his partner, Albin, who is the club’s star attraction. Complications arise when Georges’ son, Jean-Michel, brings home his fiancée’s ultra-conservative parents to meet them, causing so much hilarity and LOL moments.

Playing the lead roles of Georges and Albin are Michael de Mesa and Audie Gemora.

With them in the cast are Sheila Francisco, Raul Montesa, Noel Rayos, Analin Bantug, GMA-7 Starstruck winner Steven Silva, Missy Macuja Elizalde, Joni Galeste and Rafa, who’ll appear in drag. “La Cage” opens on February 28 until March 29 at the RCBC Plaza, Makati!
