Derek Ramsay & Kris Aquino's First Teamup Might Not Push Through After All

HOW TRUE that the movie Derek Ramsay and Kris Aquino, tentatively titled “Chemistry” and to be shot starting in May, is having difficulty getting off the ground because its producers cannot agree on certain terms? Two of them both want to be major shareholders and the others won’t give in. Well, we surely hope they can still iron the kinks out for the project to push through.

Meantime, Derek is very happy because his first sitcom, “Mac & Chiz” with Empoy Marquez, remains to be the toprater among the new shows that the Happy Network TV5 launched recently. It seems like the viewers are really entertained by the wacky antics not only of Derek and Empoy but also their co-stars, Bianca King, John Lapus and Jojo Alejar.

About his love life, Derek is very vocal in saying that he no longer wants to have a girlfriend from showbiz, like his exes Angelica Panganiban and Cristine Reyes who is now a mom after having giving birth to a premature 7-month old baby girl. “Ayoko na ng showbiz girlfriend. Too much drama,” he says.

He’s currently dating a non-showbiz single mom named Joanne Villablanca, who’s ten years younger than him at 27. "I’ve known her for a while. But I think it was over Christmas holidays when we got to know each other more.”

He doesn’t mind that she has an 8 year old daughter since he himself has an 11-year old son. “I won’t judge somebody because of their past. It’s what you show me now that’s more important, not your past.”
