YASMIEN KURDI was shocked when it was reported on social media that she is dead. A Facebook page declaring RIP Yasmien Kurdi came out reporting: “At about 11 a.m. on Thursday (February 12, 2015), our beloved actress Yasmien Kurdi passed away. Yasmien Kurdi was born on January 25, 1989 in San Juan. She will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
About a million gullible people quickly acknowledged it. Many of them even expressed their condolences and concern for her family. They also expressed their sadness and regret that the 16-year old singer-actress is now dead. But as it turned out, it’s all a hoax, just like the fake celebrity deaths recently reported in social media, including that of Tom Cruize, Jacky Chan, etc.
The truth is Yasmien was taping for GMA-7’s hit afternoon soap, “Yagit”, that day, then later went to Subic for a weekend vacation with her husband, Rey Soldevilla, and their daughter, Ayesha Zara.
“Grabe naman ang mga nagkakalat ng ganyang morbid na balita,” says Yasmien. “Ano kaya ang napapala nila sa ganyang gawain nila? Sana, kung ano yung nire-report nilang maling balita tungkol sa kapwa nila, bumalik sa kanila.”
This week, Yasmien as Dolores is reunited with her daughter, Chlaui Malayao as Elisa, when she went to her daughter’s school. Yasmien even brings Elisa home. Paolo Contis as Rex and Wowie de Guzman as Chito get nervous as Elisa might recognize them for having kidnapped her before but the girl doesn’t remember them. The Yagit kids also visit Elisa and her school and they secretly went out like old friends but Jimwell Ventinilla as Tomtom get sick and is taken to the hospital. Because of this, Elisa was able to go home much later than usual, making her dad James Blanco as Victor mad who then fired their driver Peter for taking out Elisa and the Yagits.
