“I really got hurt kasi ang tagal ko na roon,” she says. “I’ve gotten used to going to GMA every Sunday to perform, from ‘SOP’ to ‘SAS’. But I guess ganun talaga sa showbiz. They explained naman na kailangan nilang magbawas ng performers at naintindihan ko naman. Kaya lang, nakakalungkot na isa pala ako roon sa matatanggal.”
She used to be on with another GMA artist, Sef Cadayona, and they were even paired in a movie, “Kaleidoscope World”. But Sef dumped her allegedly because of Andrea Torres. Sef and Andrea insist they’re just good friends but some writers think otherwise as they’re always seen together.
“I don’t want to talk about him na,” says Yassi. “He was my first boyfriend and it’s like a good learning experience for me. It made me realize that I should give more priority to my career than to having a lovelife. Kaya ngayon, kahit may nanliligaw, ayoko muna. I’ll focus on my career na lang.”
She’s now managed by Viva Entertainment, with whom she has done two movies, “Diary ng Panget” and “Talk Back and You’re Dead”. In “My Fiance Since Birth”, she is paired with Vin Abrenica. “I play Alyssa na bata pa, sinabihan nang hindi puedeng makipag-boyfriend sa iba dahil nasa tiyan pa lang ako ng mom ko, napagkasunduan nang paglaki ko, may fiance na ako, named Van. Pero never ko naman siyang na-meet. Instead, I meet si Vin Abrenica as Vincent, na nakainisan ko without knowing siya pala si Van na hinihintay kong bumalik sa buhay ko. Maganda yung pagkaka-develop sa love story namin, as written by Kagome Annah at nagkaroon ng 4.8 million hits sa Wattpad plus 41,000 votes, kaya I’m sure marami na ang nag-aabang dito as a TV mini-series. We’ll be airing from March 9 to 13 so abangan nyo.”
