Jericho Rosales Says Maja Salvador & Paulo Avelino Are The Best Choices For 'Bridges Of Love'

JERICHO ROSALES is the only lead star of “Bridges of Love” who is an original cast member. Anne Curtis was the first choice as leading lady but she was replaced by Maja Salvador. John Lloyd Cruz was the first choice as Echo’s long lost brother but he was replaced by Xian Lim who was then replaced by Paulo Avelino.

“I’m very happy with Maja and Paulo,” he says. “They might not be the first choice but they’re the best choice for their roles. Si Maja, nakasama ko na sa ‘Legal Wife’ so I know magaling talaga siya. As for Paulo, I was the one who suggested him. Nakita ko kasi ang talent niya sa pag-arte and I want to have the chance to work with him. When the story starts, brothers kami na mga bata pa rito, then nagkahiwalay kami and I thought he’s dead. Ako, lumaking naghihirap sa buhay as a working student. Siya naman, naampon ni Edu Manzano at lumaking mayaman helping manage their businesses. Later on, magiging magkaribal kami kay Maja na isang star dancer sa club.”

He’ll be celebrating his first anniversary with wife Kim Jones in May. How come they still don’t have a baby?
“Hindi muna. We’re still praying about it kung kailan ang perfect timing. Kasi gusto ko muna ma-enjoy niya ‘yung work niya. Gusto ko muna maging both prepared kami for that. Kasi ‘pag kinasal kayo, it’s just the start. Pag-aaralan n’yo pa ‘yung isa’t isa ngayong nagsasama na kayo. When she finally gets pregnant, I want to be there for her para alagaan siya before siya manganak and a few months after siya manganak. So timing is crucial talaga. Gusto ko nando’n ako para sa kanya and as of now, we’re both not ready pa. But the right time will come.”

Won’t Kim get jealous when she sees his love scenes with Maja in “Bridges of Love”? “No. Australian si Kim. So medyo open ‘yung kultura nila at hindi masyadong konserbatibo. Alam niyang work lang ang ginagawa ko. She knows na hindi ako gagawa ng isang bagay for wrong reasons. That’s how much she trusts me.”
