ISABELLE DAZA stars in her first ABS-CBN teleserye in “Nathaniel”, where she plays Martha Amante, the lawyer girlfriend of Gerald Anderson. Also in the show are Shaina Magdayao and new child actor Marco Masa. So how’s it so far? “Okay naman,” she says. “Siempre, at first, nangangapa pa ako, kinakabahan kasi on primetime it. So I had a workshop with Gerald for us to get to know each other better. Before this, they gave me the chance to do an episode in ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ na puro iyakan. Sunod-sunod yung sequences ng iyakan and at about midnight, naubos na yung tears ko. The director, Jerry Sineneng, screamed at me in front of everyone else. ‘Hindi mo na kaya? Ba’t ka pa naging aktres?’ I was so stressed. I’ve never experienced that, so ayun, ginawa ko yung eksena, full of tears. Nag-sorry ako kay Direk and he said, ‘Baliw’, then I realized it’s just his strategy to make me cry.”
Before moving to ABS, she was a regular host in “Eat Bulaga”. Would she be willing to be a guest in “It’s Showtime”? “I don’t think ABS would require me to do that kasi siempre, they know galing ako sa ‘Eat Bulaga’ and out of respect and delicadeza, I won’t appear in ‘Eat Bulaga’s’ rival show.”
