“I have so much to be thankful for,” says James. “Everything happened so fast since we were launched in ‘Diary ng Panget’. I’m glad I was with Nadine when it happened and we went through it all together. Now, I’m definitely much more serious with my career and I’ve come to realize that I really love acting.”
“Para sa Hopeless Romantic”, like “Panget” and “Talk Back”, is directed by Andoy Ranay. How would he describe the Jadine love team on its third screen outing? “Sa ‘Diary’, awkward pa sila since they’re still getting to know each other. Nahihiya pa sa isa’t isa. Sa ‘Talk Back’, mas kilala na nila ang isa’t isa so they’re more relaxed. But now, in ‘Hopeless Romantic’, they really know each other so well and they’re now so comfortable with each other kaya mas madali na silang idirek. Wala nang hesitations kahit sa romantic scenes kaya mas intense na ang chemistry nila at, pati ako mismo, kinikilig sa kanila.”
In “Hopeless Romantic”, James plays Nikko while Nadine is Becca. They used to be lovers but they broke up as they have different beliefs about love. Nikko is optimistic that they might reconcile but Becca is actually very bitter about their breakup. In an alternative reality that exists only in Becca’s mind, Julia Barretto and Inigo Pascual play lovers Maria and Ryan who represent the true state of Becca’s heart. Their two love stories intertwine to tell viewers that when it comes to love, all of us have the power to choose our own happy ending. This will open in theatres on May 13.
