“Although I composed all the songs, hindi puro ako lang ang kumanta diyan,” he says. “The theme song from ‘Kambal Sirena’, ‘Sa Iyong Mundo’, which is about twin sisters, were sung by my daughters, Alyssa and Gabs. ‘Bagong Umaga’ from ‘Strawberry Lane’ is sung by Julie Anne San Jose. ‘Lihim’ from ‘Lihim ni Annasandra’ is sung by Maricris Garcia. ‘My BFF’ theme song is sung by child stars Jillian Ward and Mona Louise Rey. Ang wedding song ko for Marian and Dingdong, ‘Mestizang Cavitena’, is sung by Dingdong Dantes himself. May duets din ako, with Jennylyn Mercado in ‘Never Gonna Let You Go’, with Solenn Heussaff in ‘Cheesy Call’, with Glaiza de Castro sa ‘Dading’ theme song, and with Jaya and Julie Anne sa ‘Ikaw, Ako at Siya’ na theme song ng ‘Dalawang Mrs. Real’. Tapos, may Kapuso All Stars number in ‘Bangon, Kaibigan’. Sa dami ng songs and artists involved, sulit na sulit talaga ang ibabayad sa CD nito.”
As usual, Janno is asked again as to how he and wife Bing Loyzaga are doing now. “Matagal na kaming okay. Nagkaproblema lang kami but never kaming naghiwalay. We believed na marriage is sacred so we really work hard on our marital relationship. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary last year.”
He admits there was a time he became unproductive because of depression. “Tumaba kasi ako, ayokong lumabas ng bahay. Parang mid-life crisis when I hit my 40s. But I’m over it now na 46 na ako. My family is always my source of inspiration. At tiyempo naman, GMA is always commissioning to write new songs for them kaya ganado ako. Nagpapasalamat nga ako kay Ogie Alcasid. Sabi ko, nang umalis siya ng GMA, sumikat ako kasi dati, siya lagi ang nagsusulat ng theme songs for them.”
He and Ogie remain to be the best of friends. Ogie congratulated him in social media and said he already bought his copy of Janno’s album. Together, they will be hosting the Enpress’ Golden Screen Awards for Television on April 26.
