Rita Daniela Launches Self-Titled Debut Album In 'Sunday All Stars' This Weekend With 'I'M Flying High' As Carrier Single

RITA DANIELA is launching her self-titled debut album from GMA Records this Sunday at “Sunday All Stars”. At the solo presscon for her at GMA’s Executive Lounge, Rita appeared in a body-hugging outfit that highlights her curvaceous figure. In her album’s photos, she is also seen in various sexy poses. Does this mean she’s now ready for an FHM pictorial? “Ay, hindi po!” she exclaims. “Sa album pictorial pa nga lang, naloka na ang nanay ko, what more kung mage-FHM ako. But the album itself is really mature, edgy and fierce.” But didn’t she go sexy in the movie “Asintado” where she seduced Jake Vargas? “Kissing scene lang naman yun. Wala akong pinakitang skin. Malandi lang talaga yung character ko. But I’m proud of that movie. Nananalo ng awards abroad.”

She sang some songs from her album and we’re really impressed with the quality of her voice. The carrier single, “I’m Flying High”, is an upbeat number ala-JLo. She has finished shooting the music video and it’ll be shown soon so watched for it. Her extended play album has five other songs, of which only “Fallin’” is a revival and the rest are all originals: “Di Lang Ikaw”, “Forever with You”, “Hahanap-Hanapin Ka”, “Ihip ng Pag-ibig” and the carrier track “I’m Flying High”. All the songs’ minus ones are also available in the CD.
Turning 20 on September 15, Rita was the grand champion of Pop Star Kids when she was 11 years old. Julie Anne San Jose was her runner up but Julie Anne got her own album ahead of her. How did she feel about it?



“Well, like I always say, pana-panahon lang po yan. When I won, time ko yun. Nang mag-shine siya, time niya yun. Ako naman, I went into acting and nakilala ko doing contravida roles as Rita de Guzman. But now, as Rita Daniela, I want to be known as a total performer. My new manager, Ms. Anna Puno, is producing my first concert, but it doesn’t mean I’m forsaking my acting career. Kontrabida pa rin ako uli in ‘Let the Love Begin’. Pamangkin ako ni Ms. Donita Rose na kontrabida kay Ms. Ai Ai de las Alas. Ako naman, kontrabida kay Gabbi Garcia. Basta lahat ng nangyayari sa’kin at sa career ko, I credit it and lift it all up to God.”

Who does she want to be her special guest in her forthcoming concert? “Kung puede, si Ate Jolina Magdangal, kasi siya talaga idol ko noong Pop Star Kids. Sa mga lalake, my crush, Dennis Trillo. I bought his album and I got to memorize all his songs.”

How did she feel when Alden Richards denied her allegation that they once had a mutual understanding? “Okay lang. I just smiled when I heard it. He was just being true to himself. Totoo siya, e totoo rin ako. Kaya nga we remain to be very close friends. Pareho kaming totoo.”
