SHAINA MAGDAYAO was on with John Prats for two years, then she dumps him to hook up with John Lloyd Cruz, who later dumps her for Angelica Panganiban. What can Shaina say about the coming wedding of ex-BF Pratty to Isabel Oli?
“Naku, happy na sila, kaya huwag na tayo makisali,” she says. “Huwag na tayong makigulo. Bigay na natin sa kanila ‘yung spotlight. Okay naman kami ni John, we’re friends, and of course, I’m very happy for them.”
She herself is loveless. “It’s not a priority for me. Basta kung may darating, di dumating. But hindi ko siya hinahanap. ‘Yung parang energy ko, ‘yung focus and attention ko, ibibigay ko na lang sa things that really matter. I-divert na lang ang oras sa mas makabuluhang bagay like my family and my career.”
Shaina’s last regular show was “Juan de la Cruz” with Coco Martin almost two years ago. Coco has since starred in “Ikaw Lamang” and is now in “Yamishita’s Treasure” but, in her case, it took quite a while before she got a new assignment. She plays a young mother in Dreamscape’s new soap, “Nathaniel”, which also stars Gerald Anderson, Isabelle Diaz, Benjie Paras, Pokwang, Jayzon Gainza, child actor Marco Masa and Coney Reyes as Gerald’s rich and powerful mom, directed by Francis Pasion and Darnel Villaflor.
“Worth the long wait for me itong ‘Nathaniel’ dahil napakaganda niyang teleserye,” she says. “It’s going to be very, very exciting. Dahil nakita kong pinaghandaan talaga even the effects, so sana po, abangan nyo sa April 20 at tiyak na mai-inspire namin kayo.”
Shaina is Gerald’s pregnant young wife when the story starts. Coney, Gerald’s mom, rejects her. They struggle to survive on their own despite trials that come their way, but finally split when their baby boy died after a car accident. Gerald goes to Harvard University in the U.S. to major in business while Shaina pursues her career as a doctor. Their son goes up to heaven and becomes an angel who is later sent to earth to help people. He eventually meet his parents again who have no idea he is their son who died as a baby.
