She does have a point there because when Eula Valdes did Amor Powers and Jean did Madam Claudia in “Pangako Sa’Yo” 2000, they were both 31 years old. Jodi is older than Eula and Jean as she’s now 33 years old when she re-creates the Amor Powers role.

Her Madam Claudia is actually better written than the original. She was given a more well rounded back story as the poor daughter of Sylvia Sanchez who’s trying her best to succeed in life. Then she turns out to be an heiress who is betrothed in an arranged marriage to Ian Veneracion.
Director Olive Lamasan says she got Angelica to do the role because she has the comic ability to come out with a campy, bitchy character. And she did, playing the role of Madam Claudia initially as a feisty “babaeng bakla”. Indeed, Angelica
