Christian Bautista Enjoys Doing Heavy Drama In 'My Mother's Secret'

CHRISTIAN BAUTISTA is back to playing a lead role in “My Mother’s Secret” after he played a supporting role as the brother of Sunshine Dizon and Sheryl Cryz in “Strawberry Lane”. This time, he plays Anton, a successful engineer and entrepreneur who accepted Gwen Zamora to be his wife even if she has a dark past and became an unwed mother when she was a struggling actress in showbiz.

“Nagkasundo kami agad ni Gwen sa set kasi masarap siyang kakuwentuhan,” says Christian. “This is the first time we worked together pero naging good friends kami agad. Dramatic ang role ko rito and I like it kasi mas nahahasa ako sa pagdadrama. May eksenang may karga akong bata at na-feel ko na parang gusto ko nang maging tatay.”

Gwen and he have posed with each other for photos that they posted on instagram. You’d think something romantic is brewing between them but it’s common knowledge that after she broke up with Raymund Romualdez, Gwen is now playing beautiful music with Joey Marquez’ son, Jeremy. “My Mother’s Secret” will replace the Koreanovela “My Love from the Star” at GMA-7’s 6 PM slot starting tomorrow, May 25.

Meanwhile, what can Christian say about his ex-GF Rachelle Ann Go staying in London after her stint in “Miss Saigon” as Gigi to play the role of Fantine in “Les Miserables”? “I’m so happy for her,” he replies. “She deserves all the success she’s getting abroad. This is another feather on her cap dahil nagampanan din ni Lea Salonga ang same role before. She’ll be singing the popular son ‘I Dreamed a Dream’. I went to London last January to watch her in ‘Miss Saigon’. So malamang bumalik ako doon to watch her naman in ‘Les Miz’. We’re all so proud of her.”

Christian has been loveless for two years now after his breakup with Carla Dunaraunu. “I’ve been dating but I’ve yet to find Miss Right.”
