GWEN ZAMORA plays the title role in “My Mother’s Secret” as the mom of Kim Rodriguez who gave her daughter away as a baby. She’s only 24 years old. Why did she agree to play the mom of Kim who’s 20 years old?
Sa’kin magsisimula ang story as an ambitious actress. Kaso nabuntis ako. Itinago ko and to avoid scandal, ipinamigay ko yung baby ko sa isang midwife, si Lotlot de Leon, na siyang nagpalaki rito. She grows up to be Kim Rodriguez. Years later, I will meet Kim again na inaapi-api ng sister kong si Meryll Soriano. I’m looking forward to all that.”
Everyone thought her relationship with Raymund Romualdez would be for keeps and she was even there to help him during the Yolanda tragedy in Tacloban. How come they broke up and he’s now on with Ellen Adarna while she’s now with Jeremy Marquez? “I guess, ganun talaga. We both felt the relationship is not growing anymore, we’re not growing together anymore. On temporary break muna kami for about six months before we made it official. Wag nyo na itanong ang details of what happened. Ang importante, we’ve both moved on and go on with our lives.
So how is she and Jeremy? “Three months pa lang kami, but it’s amazing. Journey to excellence. I’m inspired, I’m in a happy place career-wise, love-wise. But I think, lahat ng lalaki, ganun. At babaero-tamer naman ako, so I hope it will last.”
