TWO OF the supporting stars in TV5’s “Baker King” that starts airing tonight at 9:30 PM are the children of more established stars. Inah Estrada is the daughter of Janice de Belen and John Estrada, while the comebacking Ian de Leon is the son of Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon.
Inah plays the role of Eunice, one of the leading ladies of Mark Neumann who plays the title role of “Baker King”. She’s actually managed by ABS-CBN’s Star Magic, but since they have no project for her, she was lent to TV5 to do “Wattpad Presents” and now, “Baker King”. How did she feel when her mom Janice was said to be the cause of the breakup of Gerald Anderson and Maja Salvador?
“We, her children, were really annoyed as we know it’s not true,” she says. “But my mom herself decided to keep quiet and refused to dignify the rumor so tahimik na rin lang kami. Matagal nang walang boyfriend ang mom ko. Lahat ng nanliligaw sa kanya, she introduces them to us and we feel so protective of her. It doesn’t really matter if the guy is younger, as long malinis ang intentions niya at hindi niya lolokohin ang mom namin.”
What advice did her parents give to her when she joined showbiz? “They told me to get ready for showbiz intrigues, kasi even if you’re a good person, there will always be some people who will not like you and they will say things against you. About acting, sabi nila, always prepare for your role. Mag-research ka tungkol sa character mo. Listen to your director at mag-focus kang mabuti sa trabaho mo.”
She said she was initially reluctant to be an “artista” then, but now that she has tried it, she’s enjoying it. She did a supporting role in a “Wansapanataym” episode but it’s really in TV5 that she’s giving bigger roles. She’s so grateful to be part of a big project like “Baker King”.
