AFTER PLAYING the role of the very wholesome role of the lovable governess, Maya, in “Be Careful with My Heart” for two years, Jodi Sta. Maria is now re-creating the iconic role of the fiery Amor Powers (originally played by Eula Valdes) in the remake of “Pangako Sa’Yo” that starts airing on May 25. Did she accept the offer to do the role of Amor right away? “No, I had to ask for some time to think about it muna,” she says. “Nag-alangan ako noong una kasi I might not be able to do it justice kasi nga malayo ito sa role ko as Maya. But then, naisip ko, playing such an important role as Amor Powers is really a blessing and a privilege. Sino ba naman ako para tumanggi sa ganun kagandang role?”
She had to take a sensuality workshop with Ian Veneracion, who plays Eduardo, the rich boy who she falls in love with and gets her pregnant. “First taping day pa lang namin, may eksena nang nagroromansahan kami sa ilog kaya dapat lang na magkaroon ng sensuality workshop para maging believable na in love nga kami sa isa’t isa.”
We’ve seen the said scene and it was beautifully shot in a remote river in Zambales. We just hope Jodi’s innamorato, Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla, won’t get jealous when he sees the said scene.
