Kim Rodriguez-Kiko Estrada Love Team Gets Big Break As Solo Leads In 'My Mother's Secret'

THE LOVE TEAM of Kim Rodriguez and Kiko Rodriguez, which was introduced in “Strawberry Lane”, gets a big boost with their solo lead roles in “My Mother’s Secret”, the 6 PM GMA-7 soap that will start airing on Monday before “24 Oras”. This is why Kiko’s character, Pipo, was killed in “Yagit”, so he can concentrate on “My Mother’s Secret”.

Kim plays Neri, who thinks she’s an orphan who grew under the care of Lotlot de Leon as Cora. She works in an orphanage where she meets Kiko as Craig, who falls in love with her. What Kim doesn’t know is that her real mom is Gwen Zamora as Vivian, an ambitious actress who gave her away to a midwife, Cora (Lotlot), because she doesn’t want her budding showbiz career to suffer.


Gwen eventually marries Christian Bautista as Anton, a successful engineer and enterpreneur. Since she can no longer bear kids, Gwen adopts her sister Meryll Soriano’s youngest daughter. Years later, Gwen and daughter Kim will meet each other again. Will Kim be able to forgive her mom for abandoning her?

Also in the cast are Enzo Pineda as Gavin, Kiko’s half brother who’ll be his rival over Kim; Shamaine Buencamino as Esther, Christian’s mom who doesn’t approve of Gwen for him; Meryll Soriano as Stella, Vivian’s opportunistic sister; Joanna Marie Tan as Karen, Meryll’s daughter who tries to snatch Kiko from Kim; Diva Montelaba as Lorraine, Kiko’s elder sister who used to be Christian’s girlfriend; and child star Tricia Cabais as Heidi, younger daughter of Meryll adopted by Gwen. This is under the direction of Neal del Rosario. Writers who attended the presscon believe the project should have been offered to Louise de los Reyes as it’ll be perfect for her now that it’s reported that she’s really an “ampon” and her real mother from Mindoro has just surfaced to claim her.
