MAJA SALVADOR is truly very busy days. She’s in the hit soap “Bridges of Love” with Jericho Rosales and Paulo Avelino. She has a new movie, “You’re Still the One”, that opens in theatres on May 27, where she plays a lawyer with a very different view about love. She stars with Dennis Trillo, Richard Yap, Ellen Adarna, Snooky Serna and Zsa Zsa Padilla, directed by Chris Martinez.
And now, she also launches her second album under Ivory Music, “Maja- In Love”. Her first album, “Believe” with “Dahan-Dahan” as its carrier single, was a big hit and certified gold, along with its second single “Halika Na” with Abra, so it’s not surprising for her to have a follow up album. The album also led to her first major concert, “Maj, The Legal Performer” at Music Museum a year ago.
Her new album’s carrier single is the contemporary ballad “Bakit Ganito ang Pag-ibig” and it has a music video with JC De Vera as her leading man. The song is catchy and her chemistry with JC is great, so it’s no wonder that the music video is a hit in youtube and various music channels. Other great cuts from Maja’s new album are “Habulan”, “Nakawin Natin ang Sandali”, “Gaano Kalayo” (duet with Sam Milby), “Hiling” (duet with Rayver Cruz), “Love Me Kill Me” plus the club remix and minus one of “Bakit Ganito ang Pag-ibig”. The album will be officially launched tomorrow at Robinson’s Manila where Maja will sing her songs live and have a special raffle and many freebies for her fans.
About her recent breakup with Gerald Anderson, she says she never believed the rumor that Janice de Belen is the reason why they split. “Gumanap siyang nanay ko sa ‘Ina, Kapatid, Anak’, so let’s respect her,” she says. “I love her so much.”
She’s so beautiful now it looks like she has found a new inspiration after Gerald. “Hindi naman lalaki lang ang nag-i-inspire sa akin, e. Siguro kaya n’yo nakikitang blooming ako, maganda ako ngayon, dahil kasi mas maraming bagay na pinipili ko na puro positive lang. Maraming blessings na dumarating, so doon ako nagpo-focus. May hit soap ako, may bagong movie, may great new album. They’re enough to inspire me.” But her song, “Bakit Ganito ang Pag-ibig”, and the title of her new movie, “You’re Still The One”, would make you believe she’s still sad over the breakup with Gerald and he’s still the one. “Ay, hindi po. Nagkataon lang. I’ve moved on. Nakikita nyo akong masaya ngayon, ‘yun na ‘yon.”
