Ogie Alcasid-Janno Gibbs Are Main Hosts Of TV5's New Sunday Noontime Show, 'Happy Truck Ng Bayan', Featuring A Robotic Truck

JANNO GIBBS was a no show at the presscon of his first show for TV5, “Happy Truck ng Bayan”, that starts airing on Sunday, June 14 starting 11 AM. We asks his co-host, Ogie Alcasid, if it’s true he has something to do with Janno’s transfer from GMA-7 and how he feels now that he’s working with him again? “Wala talaga akong alam tungkol sa paglipat ni Janno,” he says. “But when I was informed about it, I got excited kasi I missed working with him. We can do the singing segment we used to do in ‘SOP’, so we’ll try to revive that. Nami-miss ko rin ang pagiging late niya. Although this time, hindi lang siya late. Absent na siya dito sa presscon.”

TV5 Entertainment head Wilma Galvante spoke for Janno. “He really tried his best to come pero masama talaga ang pakiramdam niya,” she says. “May nakain daw siya which upset his stomach kaya nagluluko ang tiyan niya. Sayang nga as we’re all excited for ‘Happy Truck ng Bayan’, a different kind of game and musical variety show as we’re using a custom-made robotic high tech truck that transforms into a huge stage complete with equipment like cameras, lights, etc. With this, the audience need not go to the studio, kasi kami ang pupunta sa kanila. We will take this to various town plazas, barangay halls. First, dito sa Metro-Manila and Luzon, then even to Cebu and Davao kasi naisasakay siya sa boat.”

Aside from Ogie and Janno as the main hosts, the other hosts are Derek Ramsay, Jasmine Curtis Smith, Gelli de Belen, Mariel Rodriguez, comedians Tuesday Vargas, Empoy and Kim Idol, and “Artista Academy” love teams Mark Neumann-Shaira Mae, Vin Abrenica-Sophie Albert and Akihiro Blanco-Chanel Morales. They’re also introducing their own dancers, New Generation Sex-Bomb, composed of Donna, Jane, Camille, Angel and Joyce, now managed by Jara Nakamura, the daughter of former Sex Bomb manager Joy Cancio.

The cast will be called Happypeeps from the Happy Network. They will be giving away cash prizes in the various game segments like Barangay Most Wanted, Bida ng Dance Floor, OCW: Oh Construction Worker, Barangay Bayani, Ta-Wattpad Ready Set Go, Kwarta or Kwar-truck and Sing-Kol.

What if it rains? “We’ll be staging the show from covered courts,” says the show’s director, GB Sampedro, who says he is tapping the strengths of each talent involved in the show to make sure they’ll contribute their best during each episode of the show that will be taped as live.
