TWO TEEN stars of GMA Network, Barbie Forteza and Bea Binene will turn 18 this year. Barbie on July 31 and Bea on November 4. Barbie has already declared that she doesn't want to have a lavish debut, while Bea says she's really preparing to have a grand debut with the help of GMA Artist Center. Barbie is in the hit afternoon soap, "The Half Sisters", which has been on the air for more than a year now. Bea also used to be with a hit soap, "Yagit", but her character has already been killed.
Barbie says it's her personal choice not to have an expensive debut. "Gusto ko, yung simple birthday celebration lang with my closest friends, lalo yung mga kasama ko sa cast ng 'The Half Sisters'," she adds. "Gusto ko rin yun to serve as thanksgiving sa dami ng blessings na nare-receive ko. Napakalaking bagay for me na umabot ng more than one year ang 'Half Sisters'. At ngayon, bago pa man ito natapos, we got word na may followup project na agad ako, 'Dunk in Love', reuniting me with my 'Half Sisters' leading man, Andre Paras. Sa June 20 nga po, Saturday, may grand fans day kami sa Market Market at 4 PM. Pasasalamat namin ng buong cast para sa suporta nila sa 'Half Sisters'. Big blessing din for me na nominated ako as best supporting actress sa Urian Awards for 'Mariquina'. Biruin mo naman, puro veterans ang kasama ko like Gloria Sevilla, Iza Calzado, Gladys Reyes, Shamaine Buencamino at Alessandra de Rossi. Ano naman ang laban ko sa kanila? Akong pinakabata kaya maihanay lang ako with them, big honor na for me."
She's very excited about her new movie where she plays the lead role, "Mga Isda sa Tuyong Lupa" of BG Productions. "I will play the role of a Badjao maiden, si Nadia. Magsisimula ang story sa Zamboanga and we'll shoot daw some scenes there on location. Dahil sa kahirapan ng buhay, mapapadpad ang family namin sa Pampanga kunsaan magiging mga pulubi kami. True love ko sa Zamboanga si Ronwaldo Martin pero sa Pampanga, ipapakasal ako ng parents ko kay Jak Roberto. This is directed by Louie Ignacio. In early July raw ang start ng shooting namin at may balak na isali ito sa international film festivals kaya excited ako."
