He won for his role as a college student who's having an identity crisis: attracted not only to his literature professor, Eula Valdes, but also to a friend, Sandino Martin. Did he get the feeling then that his role would win him his first acting award? "No, not at all. Kasi gusto ng director namin, puro low key ang acting, wala ngang big highlights. Actually, nanalo na rin ako noon for best breakthrough performance for the horror film, 'Dagim', but iba itong acting award talaga."
Does he think it will make GMA management to take notice of him and give him better projects? "Sana, I hope so, para mas dumami ang projects ko. But right now, happy naman ako sa GMA. After my role in 'Pari 'Koy', heto I'm now taping 'Buena Familia' na maganda ang role ko as Harry. Mother ko rito si Pinky Amador and my dad died because of the Buena Family with Bobby Andrews and Angelu de Leon as the parents. I will try to use their daughter, Kylie Padilla, to take revenge on them. But in the process, mai-in love ako kay Kylie."
He's very vocal even then that he has a big crush on Kylie. So how is it working with her? "Masaya. Palangiti siya so we have no awkward moment. Naging comfortable kami agad sa isa't isa."
Have they talked about her recent breakup with Matt Henares? "No, walang time. At saka, nakakahiya naman. Bago ko pa lang siyang kakilala, yun na agad ang tatanungin ko."
He has been involved in two sex scandals. One accused of him kissing a guy and another alleged he has a nude photo showing his private part. "Pareho namang napatunayang hindi ako yun. I've learned to ignore yung ganyang stories. Even my family is not affected. Tina-tag pa nga sila nung video and foto sa social media, but they don't react anymore."
His guest appearance in "Karelasyon" with Mark Herras generated much good feedback. "Yes, kami man nagulat. Ang taas daw ng rating noon. Next week, abangan nyo, guest naman ako sa 'Mars' nina Camille Prats and Suzi Entrata. Kasama ko si Aicelle Santos. We'll show yung mga nalalaman namin sa pagluluto."
