SARAH GERONIMO says working with Piolo Pascual in their first movie together, "The Breakup Playlist", is a dream come true for her. "Lahat naman yata, gusto siyang makapareha, e," she says.
We remember her saying it's really her ardent wish to work with Papa P and have a kissing scene with him. "Konti lang naman. Baka naman isipin ni Piolo na masyado ko siyang pinagpapantasyahan. Actually, noong nagsu-shoot na kami, parang surreal. Grabe, si Piolo kasama ko. Na-starstruck nga ako. Pero habang nagsu-shooting, ang naging main concern ko na is magawa nang tama ang role ko bilang girlfriend niya na naging ex niya." So did they get to do a kissing scene? "Basta abangan nyo na lang sa movie. Maiinggit kayo."
In the movie, Piolo plays Gino, a band vocalist who recruits Sarah as Trixie, a law student, to join their band and be his singing partner. They have great chemistry on stage and this leads to romance even off stage. But things go awry when Piolo's insecurities get the better of him, leading to their break up and Sarah's leaving the band. They meet again when their fans call for a reunion concert. Will they discover that love is truly lovelier the second time around?
"The Breakup Playlist" is written by Antoinette Jadaone (noted for her 'hugot lines' in 'That Thing Called Tadhana') and Kris Gazmen, directed by Dan Villegas (who did the Metro filmfest hit and surprise award winner, "English Only, Please".) Also in the cast are Rio Locsin and Dennis Padilla as the parents of Sarah, Jett Pangan as their band's manager, Cris Villongco as their concert producer and Teddy Corpuz of Rocksteddy as the band's drummer.
