WHAT DO Yasmien Kurdi, LJ Reyes and Bettina Carlos have in common aside from being part of the hit afternoon soap, "Yagit"? They are all young mothers. Yasmien's daughter with her husband Rey Soldevilla is Ayesha. Both LJ and Bettina are single moms. LJ has a son, Aki, with ex-BF Paulo Avelino, while Bettina has a daughter, Amanda, with a non-showbiz ex-BF who doesn't support her child.
When the new school year started this month, the three of them got busy preparing for the enrollment of their respective kids and buying school supplies and uniform for them. "As a mom, kailangan, matuto kang mag-budget in buying notebooks, bags and other supplies," says Yasmien. "Tinitingnan ko muna ang quality ng materials. Kasi puedeng mas mura nga, kaso, poor quality naman kaya in the long run, mas mapapamahal ka lang."
LJ says it warms her heart so much to see her little boy going to school. "Sobrang nakakatuwa dahil excited siyang pumasok sa school at hindi kailangang pilitin," she says. "Enjoy siya making new friends with his classmates."
For Bettina, she has to prepare her daughter now that she's moving to a bigger school. "Dati kasi, pre-school land, so mas serious na ngayon kasi hindi na siya basta pre-school lang," she says. "It's a new phase in her life and I have to psych her well muna. In all fairness, nakita ko namang madali siyang nakapag-adjust sa bago niyang school."
The three of them are very happy that "Yagit", after being on the air for seven months now, once again got an extension until July. This week, LJ as Flora becomes the reason why her husband Kevin Santos as Kardo is killed by her lover, Wowie de Guzman as Chito. Meantime, Yasmien as Dolores will do everything to protect her daughter Chlaui Malayao as Eliza who is held captive by some bad guys. As for the villainous Bettina as Izel, she is now on the run after James Blanco as Victor has discovered that she has swindled their company and transferred the family's wealth to an account under her own name in a Swiss bank.
