Kylie Padilla On Romancing 'Buena Familia' Leading Man Martin Del Rosario

KYLIE PADILLA can somehow identify with her role in her new soap, "Buena Familia", where she plays Celine, the eldest child of Bobby Andrews and Angelu de Leon. Bobby got imprisoned in the story for a pyramid scam. "Pareho sila ng tatay ko (Robin Padilla) na nakulong," says Kylie. "But in real life, I'm not the eldest kasi si Ate Queenie ko ang eldest sa amin. Also, in 'Buena Familia', it'll turn out na anak pala ako ni Tito Bobby sa other woman niya, Sheryl Cruz, and Tita Angelu has no inkling na tunay na anak ako ng husband niya sa ibang babae. Another similarity is that sa 'Buena Familia', nagkawatak-watak ang family namin. In real life, ganun din kami. My mom at mga kapatid ko, nasa Australia. May dad, married na dito to someone else, while I'm living on my own."

She confirms that she has broken up with her last BF, Matt Henares, who's now studying in Australia. "Wala akong lovelife but my work makes me happy. Hindi naman ako pinapabayaan ng GMA. I just did an episode of 'Wagas' with Derrick Monasterio and now, I'm so in love with 'Buena Familia'. So, dun ko na lang binubuhos ang lahat."

Her leading man in "Buena Familia", Martin del Rosario, who's sitting beside her during the show's presscon, has declared in several interviews that he has a big crush on her. Has he told her about this? "No, wala naman siyang sinasabi. Pero kung totoo, di thank you." She then faces Martin? "Manliligaw ka ba sa'kin?" "Ilang beses ko na sinabi sa'yong ang ganda mo, di ba?" says Martin.

So why don't you tell him you love her? another scribe asks Martin. "Love agad? Love takes time. We need to get to know each other munang mabuti."

So what's the chance of Martin? May pag-asa ba? "Naku, don't pressure us. Kasi baka maging feeling awkward kami sa set. I don't like that to happen."

Why is she hesitating? Is it because she has seen Martin's nude photo scandal? "No, I haven't. But we've talked about that and sinabi naman niyang hindi siya yun. Basta ayokong isipin, ayokong pangunahan. Nagsisimula pa lang kaming mag-taping sa show, so don't force or rush us."

Isn't she somewhat envious that her Ate Queenie is now married to a Muslim husband? "No. Honestly, hindi ko priority ang lovelife now kasi I'm discovering a lot new things about myself. Pag may partner ka, the more on siya lagi ang maiisip mo and I just want to concentrate on myself now. Ang dami ko pang gustong i-improve sa sarili ko at wish kong mag-rate muna nang mataas ang 'Buena Familia'."

Instead of airing on Monday, "Buena Familia" starts airing on Tuesday, after "The Half Sisters", as GMA-7 has a special coverage of the presidential SONA on Monday.
