Sef Cadayona Gets Biggest Break Playing The Title Role In Latest Incarnation Of 'Juan Tamad'

SEF CADAYONA is aware that Juan Tamad is an iconic character who’s been played before on the big screen by several top actors, including the late actor-director and National Artist Manuel Conde.
“It’s really a big honor na sa akin napunta ang bagong Juan Tamad role and I know na big responsibility for me to play it right for today’s generation of young viewers,” he says. “It’s my first time to do a lead role at title role pa, so I promise to give it my best.”

Sef has really come a long way from being a Starstruck reject to a talented young comedian, the only one in his batch. He wants to thank more established comedians Vic Sotto and Michael V, who he considers as his mentors. “Working with them in ‘Vampire ang Daddy Ko’ and in ‘Bubble Gang’ was like taking a personal workshop with them dahil ang dami ko talagang natutuhan sa kanila. There’s nothing like working with comic icons like them para ka mahasa rin nang husto sa pagko-comedy.”

Because of his experiences working with them, he eventually won best actor for comedy awards from both the Golden Screen and Star Awards for Television. So how does rumored GF Andrea Torres feel about the big break he got? “Siempre, very happy siya for me. Like I was so happy for me nang una siyang magbida sa soap. But friends lang po talaga kami. Focus muna sa career lalo ngayong maraming magandang opportunities na dumarating.”

How’s Max Collins as his leading lady? “Masaya kasi comfortable kami with each other. Magkatrabaho rin kasi kami sa ‘Bubble Gang’.”

Supporting Sef and Max in “Juan Tamad” for the modern generation are Melanie Marquez, Roi Vinzon, Carlos Agassi, Marissa Sanchez, Caloy Alde and Gene Padilla, under the direction of Soxie Topacio. “Juan Tamad” will start showing this afternoon at 4:45 PM, produced by GMA News and Public Affairs.
