Teen Star Andre Garcia Is In TV5's 'Parangnormal Activity' & In ABS-CBN's 'On The Wings Of Love'

ANDRE GARCIA is the youngest member of the cast of TV5’s hit horror comedy show, “ParangNormal Activity”. At 15, he’s two years younger than Paolo Santiago and Shaun Salvador. Is he related to any of the numerous Garcias in showbiz like Eddie, Jean, Glenda and Emilio? “Naku, hindi po,” he says. “Marami namang Garcia talaga kaya kaapelyido ko lang po sila.”

An only child, he was born in Davao but grew up in La Paz, Iloilo where his dad was assigned to work. He was on vacation with his Lola in Manila when a talent manager saw him and told him to do a VTR for an ad agency. He did. And that’s how he started as a TV commercial model. He was 6 years old then.
He then auditioned as a child actor at ABS-CBN and was quickly cast as one of the “Kung Fu Kids”, “Goin’ Bulilit” and as the brother of Anne Curtis in “Dyosa”. “Nakuha rin po ako bilang younger brother ni Sarah Geronimo sa tatlong movies na ginawa niya with John Lloyd Cruz,” he adds.


So is he now with TV5 for good? “No, pinapahiram lang po ako ng Star Magic, with Ella Cruz and Paolo Santiago. May show pa rin po ako sa ABS-CBN. I play the youngest brother of James Reid in ‘On the Wings of Love’. Akong dahilan kaya nagpapakahirap siya to work as OFW in the States, para mapag-aral niya ako rito sa Manila. Kasama rin ako sa Star Cinema movie na ‘The Love Affair’. Isa ko sa mga anak nina Richard Gomez at Dawn Zulueta. But right now, enjoy ako to be a part of ‘ParangNormal Activity’ that airs on Saturday 8 PM. Dahil dito, mas marami ng taong nakakakilala sa’kin in public. When they see me, sasabihin nila, si Andre sa ‘ParangNormal’, o. Enjoy rin ako sa friendship na nabuo sa amin nina Paolo, Shaun at Ella. Only child lang ako kaya sa kanila ko natagpuan ang mga kapatid na hinahanap ko. Sana tumagal kami ng maraming seasons.”
