ZOREN LEGASPI gets to romance both Alice Dixson and Ina Raymundo in the latest version of “Marimar”. The soap started last week with him as Gustavo marrying Alice as Mia despite the resistance of his parents, then Ina as Brenda comes along to seduce him. Alice gets terribly jealous and runs away. An accident happens at sea and they thought their baby drowned, but she actually grew up to be Megan Young, raised by Nova Villa and Tommy Abuel. He’s only 43, how does it feel to be dad to Megan who’s 25 years old? “Okay lang, teenager na rin naman talaga ang mga anak ko,” he says. “And last, ang anak ko, Miss World,” he laughs.
Zoren is now with GMA while his wife Carmina Villaroel is with ABS doing “Doble Kara”. How does Mina feel about it? “Ako, I’m happy to be back with GMA kasi five years din akong walang show rito,” he says. “And I think maganda naman yung magkaiba kami ng network kasi we get the chance to be paired with other stars. When we get home from taping, may kanya-kanya kaming kuwento about what happened to us during the day.”
What makes their relationship as a married couple work? “I think bagay yung personality namin sa isa’t isa. Also, we give each other space. Kailangan yun para hindi kayo nasasakal sa isa’t isa. Magkatuwang kami sa aming responsibilities and we really work hard to make our relationship work.”
Their twins, Cassy and Mavy, are both star materials. Will they permit them to join showbiz? “It’ll depend on the network na mag-aalaga sa kanila. It’s important for us na priority pa rin nila ang pag-aaral nila and nae-enjoy nila ang kanilang youth. Ayaw naming magaya sila sa iba na parang nagiging alipin ng pera. Hindi naman sila ang magiging breadwinner, e. Kami pa rin ni Carmina. Actually, between us, ako ang mas open sa idea na mag-showbiz din sila. Kasi siya, ayaw niya talaga.”
How come they didn’t have more kids? “No need. Kasi kumpleto na sila, boy and girl, tapos mababait pa, so happy and satisfied na kami with them.”
