LOOKS LIKE Bangs Garcia has found her one true love in a British property developer who's handsome enough to be an artista himself. She met him by chance in Boracay last year and his name is Lloyd Birchmon. He is based in London so it's an LDLA (long distance love affair), but Bangs this is not a problem because of today's modern technology where they can skype, text or viber. She's scheduled to fly to London next month, then by December, it will be Lloyd's turn to come to Manila and visit her again with his own family as he wants them to meet her. What does she like in him?
"When we met, hindi niya alam na artista ako," she says. "He was surprised dahil while we're walking on the beach, andaming nagpapa-picture with me. He was very nice and we had a good connection right away. We quickly became the best of friends. Nauna akong bumalik sa Manila then he followed me here. Dapat uuwi na siya sa kanila but he stayed for two weeks more to be with me. Then after some weeks, binalikan na naman niya uli ako rito. Then last May, nagkataong I had a show with London so doon naman kami nagkita. I stayed there for three weeks and we were so happy."
Isn't it a mere case of love on the rebound since she just broke up with Phil Younghusband when she met Lloyd? "No. I wasn't looking for love then kaya nga mas maganda kasi, hindi ka naman naghahanap then God suddenly sends someone your way who turns out to be very very good. When you meet the right one, somehow, you'd know and feel it kasi I've never felt like this before. We're just in sync physically, mentally and spiritually. We jive on all levels. When we talk sa skype, it takes 6 hours ang pag-uusap namin. We're like the best of friends and we can talk about anything under the sun na parang hindi kami mauubusan ng pag-uusapan. I can feel siya na yata talaga ang bigay ni Lord sa akin."
Bangs is now managed by Viva but her current movie is with Regal Entertainment, "No Boyfriend Since Birth", to open in theaters on November 11, where she is Carla Abellana's rival over Tom Rodriguez. "This is my second movie with them kasi ako rin ang first girlfriend ni Tom in their first movie, 'So It's You'. Both movies are directed by Jun Lana. Aside from this, kasama rin ako sa action dramang 'Pulis Probinsya' with Jeric Raval na opening naman in December."
