Before “Half Sisters” ends, veteran actor Eddie Garcia is joining the cast to play the role of Cherie Gil’s dad. “I’m so happy na bago matapos ang show, I’ll be given the chance to work with a multi-awarded and much respected actor like Tito Eddie,” says lead actress Barbie Forteza. “Ang bait-bait pala niya at hindi ka maiilang kasi very accommodating. Nang mag-request akong mag-selfie ako with him, pumayag agad siyang mag-pose ako sa tabi niya kaya may picture na ako ngayon with him.”
With her long-running soap ending, Barbie can now focus on the films she is doing. She plays the lead role of the Badjao girl from Zamboanga who tries life in Manila in “Laut, Mga Isda sa Tuyong Lupa”. “Laut” is the original word for the Badjao tribe people. It means “laot” or in the middle of the sea as Badjaos are sea farers.
Aside from this, Barbie is in the cast of three other movies. One of these truly excites her as it will give her the chance to co-star with Nora Aunor in a Cinemalaya magic realist entry entitled “Tuos”. The other film project, “Dunk in Love”, aims to pair her with Andre Paras as their love team in “Half Sisters” was very well received by fans. Then she has another indie movie entitled “1-2-3”.
