Carla Abellana Glad To Be Paired Anew With Gabby Concepcion, This Time On TV In 'Because Of You'

CARLA ABELLANA is quite visible these days as she has a new movie, "No Boyfriend Since Birth" with Tom Rodriguez, and a new TV drama, "Because of You". "I'm glad maganda ang feedback sa trailer ng movie namin ni Tom at marami na ang nag-post sa social media na inaabangan nila talaga ito sa mga sinehan when it opens on November 11," she says. "Ang 'Because of You' naman gives me the chance to work with Gabby Concepcion at kasama rin namin sa cast sina Rafael Rosell, Celia Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, Bettina Carlos, Yia Villania, Joyce Ching, Enzo Pineda, and Kuh Ledesma."

So how is it working with Gabby Concepcion? "He's very professional. On his first taping day with us, he came straight from the airport and reported on the set two hours earlier than his call time. Nagkasama na kami before sa 'Yesterday Today Tomorrow' of Direk Jun Lana, which was an entry in the 2011 Metro Manila Filmfest. But this is the first time I get to work with him on TV. It's really great to be working with him again."

"Because of You" was tentatively titled "Madrasta" because Carla is supposed to play the role of the second wife of widower Gabby and a stepmother to his kids. But since "Madrasta" was a movie before so identified with Sharon Cuneta, it's but understandable for them to change its title.

The new primetime soap will be directed by Mark Reyes, who's also directing the hit afternoon drama, "The Half Sisters". He was planning to take a vacation for a while but because the taping of "Because of You" has already started, then he had to forego his vacation plans to Japan.
