CONGRATULATIONS to Director Joel Lamangan. His sprawling epic filmbio, “Felix Manalo”, was graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board whose members are said to be really very much impressed by the fine craftsmanship and great production values that went into the movie.
“I’m glad na nagbunga nang maganda ang lahat ng pagpapagod at paghihirap namin para mapaganda nang husto ang movie,” says Direk Joel. “It was shot for 58 days over a period of 8 months and I really want to thank all the production staff who crafted this movie well, like Rody Lacap as cinematographer, Joel Bilbao as costume designer, Edgar Littaua as production designer, Danny Red as set designer, CGI Artist Adrian Arcega, Juvan Bermil as special makeup artist, John Wong as film editor, Albert Idioma as sound engineer and Von de Guzman as musical director. I also want to thank all the 100 big stars who appeared in the movie playing various important roles. Ngayon lang napagsama sa kasaysayan ng local cinema ang ganito karaming bituin in just one movie. We all contributed our part to make this a truly good film na ginastusan naman talaga nang husto ng Viva Entertainment with the cooperation of Iglesia ni Cristo. Special mention should be given to Dennis Trillo na siyang nahirapan nang husto playing the title role dahil he was there from start to finish. Ipinakita ang character niya from being a young man hanggang sa nang tumanda na siya na napakaraming hirap at pagsubok na dinanaanan sa buong buhay niya until his passing in 1963.”
Aside from Dennis as Felix, also playing major roles in the movie are Bela Padilla as Honorata, Felix’s wife; Gabby Concepion as Erano or Ka Erdy Manalo; Snooky Serna as Pilar, Felix’ eldest daughter; Gladys Reyes as Felix’ daughter Avelina; and Jaclyn Jose as Felix’ Tiya Victorina. The movie opens in theaters on October 7, but there will be a special premiere night on October 4 at the 55,000 seater Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan. All the big stars of the film are expected to attend this historic event that aims to be put on the Guinness Book of World Records.
