MATTEO GUIDICELLI holds his first solo concert, "MG1", at the Music Museum on November 28, 8pm, after doing a three in one show with JC De Vera and Daniel Matsunaga, "Dreamboys", in the same venue some months ago. His guests this time are Martin Nievera and Morisette. The very athletic Matteo is about to be launched as an action star in BG Production's "Tupang Ligaw", where he does his own stunts, and is also projected as a romantic leading man in Cinema One's "Single Single", but singing has always been one of his great passions.
Few people know that he actually took up singing lessons for theater musicals in the States. And now, aside from his first solo concert, he is also launching his self titled debut album under Star Records. Talk about striking while the iron is hot. But Matteo admits he's very nervous about his MG1 concert. "Kasi wala akong kasama rito like JC and Daniel before," he says. "But I promise to give my best to my audience and they'll see a very good show. I will do ballads, medleys of my favorite songs and do production number with my guests."
Will girlfriend Sarah G be there? "You know, Sarah is my girlfriend but we want to separate our relationship from our work so I want to do this alone, on my own. Dream ko na ito even before pa maging kami. I don't want bashers accusing me of using her para lang may manood ng concert ko at bumili ng album ko. So we've made a decision that she'll do her thing and I'll do my thing. We're hoping people will understand our decision. But she remains to be my main inspiration in my work and in life."
Produced by Hills&Dreams Events Concepts Co, his MG1 concert is under the musical direction of Marvin Querido and directed by Frank Lloyd Mamaril. Tickets are available in Ticketworld outlets or may call at 891-9999, sponsored by Belo Medical Group, Boardwalk: Fashion for Social Change, Ford and Jet 7 Bistro, in partnership with Belkin, Fernando’s Bakery, FLM Creatives and Productions, Inc., Lancer’s Coco Lumber and Hardware, MacPower, Runtastic, and 10 Inch Lights and Sounds.
