MEGAN YOUNG got a lot of very encouraging feedback from viewers who appreciated her acting in that scene in “Marimar” where she was forced by Jaclyn Jose as Angelika to eat mud while looking for a missing necklace. They found it very touching and very effective.
“Grabe talaga ang eksenang yun, pinakain ako ng putik,” says Megan. “But I’m glad we did it right kasi overwhelmingly positive nga ang reactions ng mga tao sa social media. Lahat sila, gustong-gusto ang eksena at aabangan daw nila ang pagdating ng tamang panahon na gaganti si Marimar kina Jaclyn Jose as Angelika and my sister Lauren Young as Antonia, na sila naman ang pakakainin ko ng putik.”
Netizens can’t seem to accept the fact that Megan, the country’s first Miss World winner, was made to eat mud. “Grabe,” says a fan of “Marimar” on twitter, ‘biro mo, Miss World, pinakain ng putik. Buti na lang game na game si Megan na gawin yung eksenang yun.”
Another fan wants to know if Megan doesn’t really get hurt from all the physical punishment she’s getting from Jaclyn and Lauren who even had her arrested by the police and falsely accused her of stealing something. “Siempre, kung minsan nagkakasakitan talaga, pero okay lang yun, it’s part of my job para lumabas na makatotohanan ang eksena.”
But even after she found the necklace in the mud using her mouth, Jaclyn didn't let her go and made the cops arrest for stealing the necklace, so she lands in jail. Meantime, her grandparents, Nova Villa and Tommy Abuel, were killed inside their hut after Jaclyn ordered Dion Ignacio as Nicandro to burn their house down. While she's in jail, Megan as Marimar doesn't know at all that her lolo and lola are already dead.
