"We became quite close during the pageant kaya nalungkot talaga ako nang malaman ko ang balita," says Megan.
In her social media account, she paid a last tribute for her friend: "It really saddens me that such a tragic accident had to happen to such a beautiful soul. I am thankful I got to meet you in Bali and stand on the same stage as you. You were a kind hearted and lovely lady. Batch 2013 won't be the same. Bless your soul, Ena.”
Reports say that Miss Austria regularly jobs at Bergisel Mountain in her hometown in the Tirol region of Austria. She fell into a ravine 30 meters down, suffering from serious head and lung injuries. She was taken to the hospital but passed away the next day, October 20.
"What happened shows how fragile life can be, so we shouldn't waste any single moment of our life," says Megan who went back to her acting career after her reign as Miss World. She now plays the title role in the hit GMA primetime soap, "Marimar". This week, Megan as Marimar teams up with the real mom she doesn't know, Alice Dixson as Mia, in competing with her dad, Zoren Legaspi as Gustavo who's now married to Ina Raymundo as Brenda, to get the important space in a mall for a jewelry shop. Because of Megan's beautiful jewelry designs, they were the ones who succeeded in getting the rights to the space. But Megan finds another opponent in LJ Reyes as Inocencia, who is mean to hear when they meet in their office's pantry.
"Abangan nyo dahil lalaban na si Marimar at hindi na paaapi," says Megan. "Bubuhusan ako ni LJ ng hawak niyang kape at gaganti ako at bubuhusan ko naman siya ng soft drinks."
