PIOLO PASCUAL has a commendable advocacy in his SunPiology Run that has been held annually since 2009 as it has sent several scholars to school. This year, the SunPiology Run on November 28, will be held to help fight the deadly disease, diabetes, which affects about 4 million Filipinos.
“The disease can be prevented with a healthy lifestyle so we want to promote more awareness of how to combat it, one of which is having regular exercise like running,” says Piolo. “The run this year will offer ‘diabetic’ obstacles along the routes of the newly opened McKinley West of Megaworld Properties in the Fort. But the battle against diabetes goes beyond the race as participants can give more to our beneficiaries that include the Institute for Studies on Diabetes Foundation (ISDF), Lingkod Kapamilya and Hebreo Foundation, through Sun Life Foundations Kick2Give where runners will be challenged to kick body bags with diabetes wordmarks for additional donations to ISDF.”
Every year, SunPiology is made brighter by the presence of Star Magic’s crowd-drawing stars like Bea Alonzo, Kim Chiu, Maja Salvador, Paulo Avelino, Matteo Guidicelli, Xian Lim, Liza Soberano, Enrique Gil, Ejay Falcon, Iza Calzado, Rayver Cruz, Jessy Mendiola, Robi Domingo, Joem Bascon, JC de Vera, Pokwang, Angeline Quinto, Zaijian Jaranilla, Nash Aguas, Alexa Ilacad, Inigo Pascual, Sofia Andres, Michelle and PBB discoveries.
Registration for SunPiology starts on October 12 online at sunpiology.com and in stores on October 19 at Toby ourlets in SM MOA and Robinson’s Galleria and RunnrBHS and Trinoma. Organized by Run Rio, SunPiology Run 2015 is supported by Megaworld as venue partner, Medicard as medical partner, Toby’s and Runnr as registration partners, Max Restaurant, Gardenia, Cebu Pac, Sante Barley, PhilRice and Sun Life Foundation.
Since the subject is running, how come Piolo seems to be running away from marriage? “No, I’m not running away. I’m actually looking for it and looking forward to settling down, but right now, I’m just taking advantage of the opportunities coming my way. But the time will come when thing will slow down and I will be ready to smell the flowers.”
What are his next projects after hit films like “Starting Over Again” and “Breakup Playlist”? “I have a new soap to be shown early next year, ‘Written in the Stars’ with Toni Gonzaga, Sam Milby and Jolina Magdangal. There’s also a movie, possibly with Kim Chiu. I think they got the idea to gives us a movie after I appeared opposite her sa surprise ending ng ‘Etiquette for Mistresses’. I look forward to that kasi noon ko pa talaga nire-request na makasama ko si Kim.”
