IS IT TRUE Kris Aquino herself chose the KimXi love team of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim to be a part of her Metro-Manila Filmfest entry instead of LizQuen of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil as earlier planned? The movie started with “Mr. & Mrs. Split” as its title, then it became “Pamilya Luv Luv Luv”. Now, the latest title is “All You Need is Pag-ibig”, which sounds like “Relax, It’s Just Pag-ibig”, the movie that introduced Piolo Pascual’s son, Inigo, which was a flop.
Well, the director of both movies is Antoinette Jadaone of “That Thing Called Tadhana” so it’s not surprising that she goes for this kind of title mixing both English and Tagalog words. Jadaone is the fair-haired girl at ABS-CBN Star Cinema these days because of the huge success of her JaDine soap, “On the Wings of Love”, which is not only reaping good reviews but rating high as well, compared to “Pangako Sa Iyo” of Kathniel that failed to reach the level of success achieved by the original version. People say they prefer “OTWOL” to “PSN” because the light romance of JaDine is a feel good story compared to the characters of PSN who are all so full of bitterness, hatred and vengefulness.
Going back to Kris Aquino, we can’t blame her if she chose KimXi over LizQuen. She’s chummy with Kim, especially after they did “Etiquette for Mistresses” together. And it can’t be doubted that Enrique’s erstwhile wholesome image has been badly tainted by his getting drunk while on a plane going to London, where he reportedly tried to harass Jessy Mendiola. He has apologized on TV but it will take sometime before the memory of this is erased in the minds of the public who quickly ranked him alongside other problem boys like JM de Guzman and Baron Geisler.
No doubt that Liza herself is affected by what happened. When she appeared beside Enrique while he’s saying sorry on TV, she looks like she was just forced to join him to help in the damage control. We heard the movie they just finished shooting, “Everyday I Love You”, which was supposed to be shown at the end of October, has been re-scheduled for another playdate next year when things have hopefully simmered down. Maybe Enrique should be shown doing positive things like going to orphanages or helping indigent street children to brighten up his tarnished image once again.
As for Kris, she said her son Bimby (who has the makings of a dramatic star after all the lugubrious tears he shed at the recent wedding of his yaya which he himself financed) will definitely be part of her filmfest entry. But she didn’t mention her leading man at all. Will it still be QC Mayor Herbert Bautista or is he really out of the picture to be replaced by Derek Ramsay?
If it’s Derek, then Kris gets her wish fulfilled as she previously declared that the actor who makes a surprise appearance with her in “Etiquette for Mistresses” is her dream leading man. And guess who that was, it’s Derek, who at the ending of “Etiquette” is shown to have been the husband of Kris’ character and they even beget twins. Imagine the soon to be 45 years old Kris Aquino giving birth to twins?
