The drama series on Jose Rizal, “Ilustrado”, where he played the National Hero, won as best drama series in the 37th Catholic Mass Media Awards of the Archdiocese of Manila held last Wednesday night at Star Theatre in Pasay. Other GMA-7 shows that won awards are “I-Witness” as best adult educational/cultural program, “Pepito Manaloto” as best comedy program, the GMA Christmas short film “Happiest Pinoy” as best TV ad, “May Pag-Asa” as best station ID, “Ang People’s Pope” as best special event coverage, “Brigada” as best news magazine, “24 Oras Weekend” as best news program special citation, and “Super Balita sa Umaga on DZBB” as best news program (radio).
