Derrick Monasterio Should Be Developed By GMA As The Next Big Kapuso Leading Man After Alden Richards

PEOPLE are raving over the episode of “Karelasyon” last Saturday. Most of them are impressed with Derrick Monasterio in his role as a young man who falls in love with a much older woman, Elizabeth Oropesa. We got several emails and messages about it.

Here’s one from Gerlyn Briggs of UST: “Ang ganda ng episode at magaling pareho sina Derrick at Ms. Oropesa. Bitin lang ang story. Walang ending. Puedeng-puedeng i-develop ito para maging isang full length movie.”

And this one is from Trini Elys Tolentino of Sta. Rosa: “Parang naapektuhan talaga ang cougar na si Beth O sa love scene nila ni Derrick. Di ko siya masisisi kasi guwapo talaga si Derrick, yummy na, sexy, may height at ang galing pang umarte. Sa totoo lang, he can give Alden Richards a run for his money as the next big Kapuso leading man. Kundi pa rin mapasikat ng GMA si Derrick sa 2016, lumipat na lang siya sa Kapamilya.”

Well, obviously, GMA-7 management has heard the plea of Derrick’s fans. After his involvement in “The Half Sisters”, he’s sure to be given a new soap in 2016. The title is “The Abandoned” and it will pair him with his friend, Bea Binene, whose love team with ex-BF Jake Vargas has been broken up for good. Supporting them in “The Abandoned” are Angelika de la Cruz, Raymart Santiago, Rita Avila, Ramon Christopher, Luz Valdez, Jazz Ocampo, Jak Roberto, Ina Feleo, Marco Alcaraz and Shyr Valdez.
