“Nakakatuwa naman kasi after playing father roles, heto’t nabigyan ako ng chance to do another male lead role at napakaganda ng reception ng viewers,” he says. “Everywhere I go, they tell me they like my role as Jaime, the Boss Yummy na pinagtaksilan ng asawang si Valerie Concepcion so I’m now using my assistant, si Carla nga, to pretend that she’s my girlfriend para pagselosin ang misis ko.”
GMA shows are on a winning streak. It used to be that only their afternoon shows reign supreme, especially “Destiny Rose”, which trounced its new rival show in the ratings. “Buena Familia” and “The Half Sisters” also continue to garner high ratings. Now, the primetime shows are also rating very well. Aside from “Because of You”, “Marimar” and “Little Nanay” are both also getting nationwide audience support.
No wonder that at the GMA Christmas Party last Wednesday night, GMA Pres. and Chairman Felipe Gozon happily and proudly proclaimed that their shows in both afternoon and primetime slots are now the top raters in NUTAM ratings and, not only that, the revenues they give the company for 2015 are very profitable. He ended his welcome remarks saying that they hope GMA will experience better ratings and more support from advertisers in 2016.
