THE LONG RUNNING afternoon hit soap, “The Half Sisters” will finally end in two weeks after being in the air for a year and a half. But the fans of its lead stars, Barbie Forteza and Andre Paras, need not worry because they have a follow up project right away. They will topbill the new show entitled “That’s My Amboy” starting January 25.
The fact that the Barbie-Andre love team clicks so well with their followers on TV is the main reason why the love team that Viva is cooking up for Andre and Yassi Pressman on the big screen will not prosper. Otherwise, their first team up in “Wang Fam” would have been a success. As it is, it’s common knowledge that the movie didn’t do well at the tills.
GMA-7 has really prepared a great lineup of new shows for the first two months of the coming new year 2016. Their first salvo is the comeback of the Miguel Tanfelix-Bianca Umali teen love team on January 18 in the much awaited “Wish I May” (with Alden Richards’ hit love songs as its theme). Then, on February 8, another teen love team will topbill another new show, “The Abandoned”, starring Derrick Monasterio and Bea Binene. Eugene Domingo will have a new show to host, “Dear Uge”, starting on Valentine’s Day. And on February 27, Michael V and Iya Villania will be hosting the new dubsmash contest, “Lip Sync Battle”.
Tonight, don’t miss their grand countdown for the new year, “GMA Countdown to 2016”, hosted by Alden Richards, Kris Bernal and Betong Sumaya at the Seaside Blvd. of the Mall of Asia. The guest performers include Mark Herras, Rocco Nacino, Sef Cadayona, Julian Trono, Wynwyn Marquez, Mayton Eugenio, Gerphil Flores, StarStruck Top 6 and the teen loveteams of Ruru Madrid- Gabbi Garcia and Miguel Tanfelix-Bianca Umali. There will be a big fireworks display to greet 2016 and a contest for those who’ll wear the best costume.
